Painting Of An Old Lady

First day in our studio, yay!

After showing us how to use the basic tools in Photoshop we are given a printed version of a digital painting of an old lady and are asked to replicate that starting from a simple black background.

This is my result:

Joking!

That is where I started though. By blotching in big patches of colour I was able to understand more or less the shape I was looking for.
After that, I forgot to save it apart so there's a bit of a jump but I was getting carried away with painting so I hope you'll forgive ;)

I also took away the background colour for the face in this one, so you could see the construction line for the facial traits.

And then the final one with some extra bits I added later at home:

MAYA!

After the morning photoshop, after lunch, we approached 3D virtual modelling using Maya 2014.

They explained few tools and whilst doing that gave us the freedom to model anything using the basic shapes:

After that they gave us a reference image from which we were to create our model:

That was the reference image, and this is what i managed to produce:

Robots!

After a couple of introductory talks we are finally going to start going to our "lab".
And for when we do, we have been given an assignment already :)

ROBOTS!!!
I am to produce a few sketches and a final coloured piece to see what our sills with traditional media are, and this is what I did:

These where some of the sketches I did for the task.

This was my virtual version of the idea.

And this is my final production.
